Authentication Policy

Effective July 2026

1Scope

This policy describes how Poster Memorabilia authenticates, documents, and guarantees the hand-signed pieces it sells. It applies to every piece sold by Poster Memorabilia, past and present.

2Sourcing

Pieces are selected individually. Every piece is reviewed through our in-house authentication process before entering the catalog, and every piece is covered by our Lifetime Authenticity Guarantee — including every piece we have ever sold.

3The piece

You are purchasing a hand-signed piece. The poster itself is a newly printed reproduction of the theatrical artwork; the signature is original — hand-signed by the artist themselves — and is what you are collecting. Each piece is individually cataloged and internally numbered, ensuring no two are identical. Every piece forms part of the Poster Memorabilia Signature Collection and is presented at collector size: 27 × 40 inches for film and 24 × 36 inches for music.

The authenticity is in the ink, not the paper.

4Authentication

Every signature is examined and authenticated in-house by our authentication team, whose experience in signed memorabilia spans more than twenty years. Authentication is performed before a piece is offered for sale. We do not outsource this decision: the name on the certificate is ours, and the liability behind it is ours.

Every authentication decision we make is covered by our Lifetime Authenticity Guarantee — if a signature we sold is ever proven inauthentic, the full purchase price is refunded, with no time limit.

5Documentation

Upon purchase, each piece is individually cataloged and issued:

  • a serial-numbered Certificate of Authenticity, issued through AutographRegistry.com, our own registration and documentation system;
  • a serial-numbered tamper-evident hologram affixed to the certificate; and
  • a registry record at AutographRegistry.com corresponding to the certificate.

The serial on the certificate, the number on the hologram, and the registry record are created together and correspond to one another. Certificates are dated on issue and are never backdated.

6Registration

AutographRegistry is owned and operated by Poster Memorabilia. It records pieces; it does not perform authentication. A registry record confirms that a piece was sold and documented by Poster Memorabilia under the certificate ID shown.

7The guarantee

Every signature authenticated and sold by Poster Memorabilia is covered by our Lifetime Authenticity Guarantee: if a signature we sold is ever proven inauthentic, the full purchase price is refunded, with no time limit. This guarantee covers every piece we have ever sold, whatever certificate accompanies it. Lifetime Authenticity Guarantee →

Separately, every purchase is covered by our 90-day returns policy — return within 90 days of delivery, for any reason, for a full refund. Returns policy →

8Limitations

Poster Memorabilia authenticates only the pieces it sells. We do not authenticate, appraise, or offer opinions on items purchased elsewhere, and nothing in our documentation constitutes an appraisal, valuation, or investment advice.
