A Not So Miserable Night At The Oscars

Going to the Oscars was always so wonderful. Wow! I realize I kinda sounded like I'm some sort of award-winning actor, didn't I? Unfortunately, I'm no such thing. I'm just an obsessed fan of celebrities who lives in LA and has a lot of free time so I get to go to red carpet events in the audience. One of my most memorable was the Oscars back in 2013.

In my opinion, the best movie at the time was "Les Misérables," the movie adaptation of the iconic Broadway musical. It had an all-star cast with Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, and more. And since the film was nominated for a boatload of Oscars that year, many of the cast attended the event. They all looked so glamorous, so pristine, so amazing that they just took my breath away. I remember it so well!

Part of why that night is so etched in my memory was because I did meet most of the film's cast that night. Amidst their several press interviews on the red carpet, there were times that they approached fans and signed whatever we had. What I had that night were copies of the movie poster, the one with Cosette that looks like the musical's iconic logo. It would have been easier for me (and the actors) had I just brought one poster, but since I tend to lose stuff and this was going to be such a priceless item, I decided to bring along several copies.

I honestly didn't expect them to write on multiple. I figured they'd just sign one and they'd be over and done with. And while that would have defeated the purpose of my bringing more than one copy, I was alright to accept such a fate. However, thank God that wasn't what happened. It began with Anne Hathaway. Looking like Audrey Hepburn in her short do and pink dress, she was surprisingly calm and serene. She was the huge favorite to win that night so I figured she would be sweating like a pig, but she was the picture of calmness that night. And when I caught her attention and asked for her autographs, she didn't just sign one poster, she signed all of them!

It was thanks to the fact that she signed all of them that the remaining cast members: Jackman, Crowe, Seyfried, and more, also signed multiple copies. Hathaway was the only one to sign all of them but the others gave their autographs to most of my posts, leaving me speechless at the end. Hugh Jackman was so tall, had a slightly intimidating air about him, but really was a nice and genuinely kind guy. Russell Crowe, on the other hand, despite his superstardom, I found him to be so humble. And Amanda Seyfried and Isabelle Allen, the two "love rivals" in the film, both looked adorable and angelic.

I still can't believe stars of their caliber signed my posters. That made what was already an unforgettable night even more memorable. I'll definitely never forget that night for the rest of my life!

Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
