Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon—sure, these are some of Hollywood's finest leading men. But in my opinion, none of them can hold a candle to Tom Cruise! The man's in a class all of his own. He's got a timeless appeal that, to this day, is still as magnifying as ever.
How would I know? Well, before you accuse me of being just another Tom Cruise fanboy who grew up watching "Top Gun" and "Jerry Maguire," I'll have you know I've actually met all of the guys I mentioned, especially Cruise. And let me tell you, as handsome and as fit as the others were, Cruise really is on another level. I personally witnessed his megastar quality shine bright on the red carpet during the premiere of "Mission: Impossible - Fallout." And, even better, I actually got his autograph too!
I went to the premiere with my sisters Mikayla and Anne. It was our own "sisters' night out" and what better to have it than at a Hollywood red carpet premiere? We reveled at the glamour and the pomp & circumstance of it all. Mikayla even brought a few copies of the movie's poster so that we can get the stars' signature. She was there to see Henry Cavill while Anne and I were hell-bent on getting Tom Cruise's autograph.
Eventually, most of the stars in the cast made their way to our area and signed all of our copies. And when I say all, I really do mean all—every single one of them! The funniest part was when Henry Cavill even offered to take a selfie with Mikayla after signing her posters. I swear, my sister was about to faint the moment 'Superman' slightly put his arm around her. It was hilarious!
Then, when the shrieks became louder and louder, we knew that Mr. Cruise had finally arrived. And seeing him in person, despite discovering how short he was (especially compared to Cavill), I was blown away. The way he posed, how he squinted his eyes against the flashed of the paparazzi, his confident stance, and his mega-watt smile—it was like nothing I had ever seen before. He clearly has mastered Hollywood. And by the raging screams of the fans—both men and women—it was also clear he got this town wrapped up in his finger.
And when he signed my posters, I felt that quality beam from him as if it was the light from the sun. It even felt a tad overwhelming. There I was, a few steps away from one of Hollywood's greatest men, and I couldn't take it. The way Mikayla almost fainted with Henry Cavill was the way I felt at that moment.
I hope I get to meet Tom Cruise again someday. I'll never forget his megastar quality. It was nothing I've ever seen before nor since!
Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
