Meeting My Favorite "New York Giants" Again!

No, I don't mean the football players. I mean Alex the Lion, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the Hippo, and many other wild creatures. Ever since the first movie premiered, I've been a fan of the "Madagascar" film franchise. I've gone to all of the movie premieres, especially for "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted."

I just love how well the writers and animators have developed the stories and characters through the years. And admit, each installment has an exciting adventure in it. First, it was getting out of New York and into Madagascar. Then traveling to Africa and seeing their original homes. And finally, going to Europe. You'd think this story was about some glamourous jet setter of undercover spy or something. Nope, it's about four zoo animals who always get into trouble. And the voice acting is always superb. But then again, one can't expect anything less from the likes of Ben Stiller, Jada Pinkett-Smit, and David Schwimmer.

At the premiere of the threequel, I was fortunate enough to meet them on the red carpet. I was so in awe of them, mainly because I've watched them most of my life. I knew Ben Stiller from such classics like "Meet The Parents," "Dodgeball," and "Night at the Museum." Then Jada Pinkett-Smith, the star of "The Nutty Professor," "Collateral," and "Set It Off." And  of course, who could forget David Schwimmer's 'Ross Geller' from "Friends?" Not me!

Standing there on the sidelines with my copies of the movie's poster, I was gobsmacked I barely spoke a word. Thank goodness my buddy Greg was there to talk to the stars and get their autographs on my behalf. and he did a great job because, not only did the main cast all sign my posters, but the start-studded supporting actors did too. And by star-studded, I mean the likes of Sacha Baron-Cohen, Jessica Chastain, Frances McDormand, and others.

As much as I love the franchise, though, I do wish they'd pack it up already. I think this is their last film so that's good. Prolonging film franchises to the point where audiences are no longer interested are such sad tales in Hollywood. I didn't want that to be the fate of this franchise!

Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
