That's right! Unlike a lot of you Marvel fanboys out there, I already recognized Josh Brolin's brilliance even before he became Thanos. And I just didn't know him as James Brolin's son and Barbra Streisand's stepson neither. I've been a huge fan of the actor for years now, even when he was still in DC!
"What!? He was in DC!?" Damn straight! And don't get your panties in a bunch! It's not like he achieved the same success there as he did in the MCU. Though I was one of the few who did like him as Jonah Hex. While the movie received mixed reviews, I do think that everyone was in agreement that Brolin was perfectly cast as the DC antihero. He was a breath of fresh air against the usual Batman, Superman, and Spider-Man movies.
I met him and the rest of the cast at the premiere of the movie. This wasn't your ordinary cast neither! The cast had its fair share of star power too, which makes the movie's less than desirable outcome even more peculiar! Apart from Brolin, it starred Megan Fox, John Malkovich, and Michael Fassbender too! Yep, even Magneto was in the DCEU before he became part of the X-Men! Figure that?
Anyways, right of the bat, he seemed like a cool guy. It's the same laid-back macho dude that I see going on late-night talk shows and comic-con events promoting "The Avengers." I'm glad his now-huge fame hasn't gone to his head. And even though he's gotten a lot of love as one of the best movie villains of all time, I do hope he'll still go for roles that are as cool and antiheroic as this one. I personally think he's the best at it!
Take it from me, always support the stars you like. Even if they're not as big now, you never know what will happen in the future! As a Josh Borlin fan, I'm proud he's become part of the biggest movie franchise the world has ever seen. But I still remember him as the antihero, when he's truly at his best!
