Having a Supernatural Time at Comic-Con
Years of Hall H Sundays, one very patient manager, and a poster that filled up a panel at a time.
By an anonymous Hollywood insider
San Diego Comic-Con is the best thing to ever happen for fans. Whether it's a movie or a TV show, the event gives us the opportunity to meet our favorite stars. Especially for TV, since series rarely hold premiere events. And when they do, they're rarely as public as movie premieres.
As a Supernatural fan, I was able to meet the show's amazing cast practically every year. I first got into the show in 2011, and in the very next year, I went to the Supernatural panel and got their autographs. It was only the second time I went to Comic-Con, and I couldn't have asked for anything better.
I saw all of them that day. Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins, Mark Sheppard, and more. I kid you not, I almost hyperventilated. They're such a handsome cast that I actually felt overwhelmed seeing them in person. The main duo, Jensen and Jared, looked like supermodels. It's insane they got cast and shared the screen together in one series.
They talked about season 7 and teased season 8 during the panel. I remember giggling with my friend as we listened to them and thought up all sorts of fantasies in our heads. We were just ordinary fangirls back then, and we had the time of our lives being in the same room as our faves.
Luckily, I managed to calm down when it was time to meet them. I remember greeting them and telling them that Supernatural was (and still is) my favorite series as I shook their hands and asked for their autographs. They were all so nice, smiling at me and signing my poster like it was nothing. It was the best time ever.

After that day, I made it a point to always go to the Supernatural panel at Comic-Con. Managing to go practically every year was amazing, too. Work wasn't that hectic yet, so I always took my annual vacation around the same time. It got to the point where my manager would automatically approve my summer leave before I even requested it.
Meeting them year after year never got old. Though there were times that I skipped the signing because I was afraid they'd think I was stalking them if they saw me every year. I didn't want them to think, “Oh, this weird girl's back!” I know they're not like that at all, but the worry got to me anyway.
Of all the years I went, 2018 was also memorable since it was the first time Alexander Calvert appeared with the cast. His character, Jack, had just been introduced the previous year, so he debuted at Comic-Con. He was a welcome addition and looked just as handsome as the iconic leads. I even got his autograph that year, too.
“My eyes were truly blessed during that time of my life.”
It's been years since Supernatural ended, but I still miss it. There hasn't been any show like it since, not to mention a cast with that many handsome men. My eyes were truly blessed during that time of my life. From the small screen to real life, I relished seeing these supermodel actors every chance I got.
Some things you watch. This one you keep.
