It has happened! I've finally been devirginized! And no, I'm not talking about sex (but I am married so...)! I'm talking about meeting celebrities for the first time. I've always wondered what it'd be like to meet people I see in films and on TV. And it finally happened a few years back.
Oh, and the celebrities in question? The stars of the hit show, "Jane The Virgin." Yep! I met the beautiful Gina Rodriguez, the handsome Justin Baldoni, Andrea Navedo, Yael Grobglas, and more. My wife works for a media company that gets to interview casts of TV shows and movies. When she was assigned to interview the cast of "Jane The Virgin," she had just given birth to our daughter and was returning from maternity leave. But since our baby girl needed special attention, I decided to accompany my wife so I can look after our daughter.
Of course, I wasn't going to miss the chance to get their autographs too. I'm not that huge of a fan of the show but I did enjoy watching it when it was on. And it was popular enough for me, who don't usually go for comedy series, to know about it. So I asked my buddy who works at the same company as my wife to get me a few copies of the poster for the series and I planned on asking the cast to sign them.
I gotta say, my wife really is a rockstar! The way she handled her interview even though she just recently gave birth at the time blew me away. I knew I married someone special! She didn't show signs of pain, exhaustion, and the like! She was calm, cool, and collected in front of the celebrities! I mean, I wasn't a devoted fan of any of them but to be in front of and talk to famous people still makes me queasy a bit. Hence, this was my first time meeting celebrities. So for her to act like it was nothing, even though she was probably used to it at that point, still amazed me!
My wife knew of my plan too, so when she ended her interview, she snuck in a little favor that if it'd be alright for them to sign my posters. Luckily, they are all game! Gina Rodriguez and Andrea Navedo were both so lovely. They didn't hesitate to sign all the posters, almost leaving nothing unsigned. Rodriguez even gushed over our baby girl and made her giggle! The other guys were also pretty gung ho about giving their autographs too. There was not a single big ego among them! That says a lot about them and how awesome this cast really is!
I honestly couldn't have asked for a better cast to "devirginize me" on meeting celebrities. Thanks to their generosity, I ended up watching "Jane The Virgin" all the way to the end!
