The best part about working as an entertainment journalist is visiting the film sets. I've visited my fair share over the years and they never fail to amaze me every time. One of the most recent ones was the set for "Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore" and let me tell you! "Fantastic" is the best word to describe it!
Even though a good portion of it was green screen, it was still awe-inspiring. Sets like these really take you to another world, so much so that I think these would do great as theme park rides. Or just set up a museum where people can visit them in person. The magic of the "Harry Potter" and the "Fantastic Beasts" books is alive and well in these sets. I couldn't help but get goosebumps, even when I look back on that day.
But of course, the best part was the cast and crew. They're the ones who fill these sets with magic. I was more than lucky enough to have interviewed the fantastic (see what I did there?) cast of "Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore." I met Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law, Ezra Miller, and more! There was never a day that they'd all be on set at the same time so I had to spend a week visiting the movie set again and again.
It was an incredible week, to say the least! I got to know some incredible people, both famous and not, and I got to see them do their thing on camera. And can I just say that seeing it all live is a whole new experience? I mean… phew! Again, I've seen it tons of times before but it blows my mind every time!
Anyway, after all the interviews, my friend who's part of the crew sent me some early copies of the movie poster. They capture the essence of the movie perfectly and I figured that these would be valuable movie memorabilia someday. Even more so when they're signed, right? Without missing my chance, I asked the cast to sign the posters before I left. Some did while others didn't. I don't blame them, but I do wish they were generous enough with their autographs. Fortunately, the leads, Redmayne and Law, both happily signed them.
While I couldn't bring you to the set with me, i hope these autographed posters would be enough to let you have a little sliver of movie magic after you go to the cinemas! I just know you'll cherish these priceless memorabilia for as long as you live.
Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
