Marvel sure has had a lot of big events under their belt. But perhaps—and I'm speaking as a lifetime fanboy of the MCU—the premiere for Black Panther was one of their best. It was a celebration of African culture, central to the movie itself, and was as grand as one would expect. But to be perfectly honest, there was one other thing that made it the best premiere for me: I was able to get the entire cast's autographs on my movie posters!
I had some help, of course, from my team. These days, in order to get people's autographs, you'll need a team. That way, if one celebrity won't sign it for you, he/she might for another person. And so there we were, at the Dolby Theatre on Hollywood Blvd. The red carpet started in the afternoon but we were already there before lunchtime. Wise decision too, as we were able to get to the front of the mess and see the actors up close. Me and three friends of mine prepared our poster for a night of autograph-hounding.
Needless to say, the cast didn't disappoint. Dressed like the kings and queens of African nations—like real Wakandans themselves—the signed each and every one of our posters. Chadwick Boseman in a sick gold and black suit, Lupita Nyong'o looking terrific in her purple dress, and Michael B. Jordan showing off his guns in what was a too-tight a suit. They all looked amazing! And the best part, they all signed our posters. Even Stan Lee himself, who attended the premiere in what became one of his last public appearances before his death.
After all of that, I'll end this blog post with this: WAKANDA FOREVER!!!
Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
