Being a former employee at a production company has its many perks. Sone of the movies that are beloved now, I helped in producing. I've met some of the biggest stars of today. And I get to do a lot of autograph hounding without the big loud crowds!
Though both my sound-mixing and autograph-hounding days are long gone, whenever I go through my stuff, I often find the memorabilia treasure sI used to work hard for. Some that I just recently found are signed posters of an animated classic that I had the privilege to work on: Chicken Run.
I remember being so enamored by the animation of this movie. It was the first time, at least for me, to see claymation at work. It was an awe-inspiring work of art, as well as a hilarious comedy, that while it's considered a cult classic, doesn't have the recognition it so rightfully deserves. I'm hoping my collection of signed posters will help! Since I worked on the sound department in the film, I was able to work with its great cast. It included Mel Gibson, Imelda Staunton, Lynn Ferguson and many more.
After everything was done on their part, I got the art department to get me the first few copies of the movie poster and have them signed all of them. Fortunately for me, they happily obliged. It was a fun process we all went through. So I wasn't surprised that they politely signed my posters for me. We're hardly friends, but that civility they showed me, despite being big-named actors, stayed with me forever!
For all you animated-lovers out there, "Chicken Run" will be a knock-out! Do yourselves a favor and watch it! it's a riot and has an amazing cast too. As well as great sound, if I do say so myself!
