"The Fault In Our Stars" will always be a special story to me. Without divulging too much, I had a friend who went through the same thing as the main characters, so both the book and the movie really resonated with me. The movie especially since I'm a huge film geek!
When I heard that they were adapting "The Fault In Our Stars" into a movie, I knew I had to attend the premiere. I wasn't gonna miss out on getting the first peek into what became one of the most important films in my life. Although I live in New York state, I'm not exactly near Manhattan. So your homegirl had to work her ass off to get the tickets to the premiere. Thankfully, all of my hard work paid off and thanks to some extremely generous fellow 'TFIOS' fans, I got a hold of a pair of tickets!
I took my best friend and hopped on the next Amtrak to the Big Apple. My bestie and I are both crazy about the book and she, in particular, was a fan of Nat Wolff, one of the stars in the film. I, on the other hand, was too focused on the two leads, Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort. When I saw the trailer, it all became so real to me; that my favorite characters have come to life! And thanks to my BFF's brilliant idea, we were ready to get their autographs too! She acquired movie posters, a lot of them, actually!
Finally, that night, it was as exciting as I thought it'd be. Everyone looked so good, the fans were going crazy (yes, including us), and the energy was second to none! It was my first time going to such an event and the adrenaline, I have to admit, was kinda addicting. Long story short, it started my passion for autograph-hounding!
I mean, I did get the autographs of most of the cast, but especially those of Ansel Elgort and Shailene Woodley! They were becoming huge stars at the time so the fact that I got them to sign out posters blew me away. It helped, of course, that they were so nice about it. Though admittedly, they were just emerging stars at the time and their big break was just premiering, so I guess they were excited to have fans ask for their autographs. I'm just not too sure they still have the same enthusiasm now that they're big stars. At least, I hope they still have that!
Anyways, for the two leads of a highly anticipated film, they were pretty generous with their autographs. They didn't even care that I and my bestie asked them to sign many posters. They just wrote on each one like it was nothing! I wish I could say the same for the rest of the cast though... (shade!).
Also, I'm happy for my friend who finally got to meet Nat Wolff that night. He was actually the first member of the cast to sign our posters. And if it weren't for my BFF, who practically acted the fool just to get his attention, we probably wouldn't have had most of the cast's autographs too! And in all fairness to Wolff, he really is handsome! I'm just more of an Elgort fan though!
I'll never forget "The Fault In Our Stars" and the impact of the book and film! And, of course, for giving me a new passion to live for too, lol!
Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
