How I Wish The Who was Part of My Generation Instead

No offense to today's artists and all, but I do think that we in the older generations got the better end of the stick when it comes to bands. They had the likes of The Beatles, Queen, The Rolling Stones, KISS, and especially, The Who. Now, Who do the young ones get? Well, I'm not even gonna get into it!

I'm filled with nostalgia and long for bands that I listened to growing up. But having spent a lot of time with my dad, I was able to get introduced to some of the best artists who ever walked this earth. The Who is an especially favorite band of mine. I see them as a less mainstream and definitely more rock'n'roll version of The Beatles only, in my humble opinion, also a lot better!

My old man and I would spend hours after school just listening to his old "The Who" records. Sometimes, my mom would even get mad at both of us. At my dad for playing the music too loud and at me for not doing my homework. And I remember, the worst punishment my folks would give me growing up was not listening to The Who for a long period of time. Man, that used to shatter me!

Even as an adult, I still love them. One of the best books I've read was that of Mat Snow whose "The Who: 50 Years of My Generation" explained the impact of the band's debut album, "My Generation." It was such a good read that I even brought posters of the book cover, just for fun. Little did I know, however, that it was those same posters that I would eventually get signed by the band themselves.

What could I do? When the opportunity presented itself when I saw the one time during a rare tour they held, those were the only posters I could find for them to sign. I did bring my dad's actually "My Generation" record with me though, and have them sign that was an absolute treasure! Had my old man been alive to see it, I'm sure he would ahve been as floored as I was!

And so, here are the posters I got signed. I already have one copy framed and nicely-hung in my house. I'm currently trying to get my children to like them the way my dad with me. So far, I haven't had the same luck though, but I'm not giving up!

Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
