It says a lot about a band on how long they stay hot. In my humble opinion, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have always been hot! No wonder they often perform shirtless! They must be steaming with how hot they play their music! And whether new or old music, they've always been hot!
I've been a fan since the early mid-noughties, specifically in 2006 when they released "Stadium Arcadium." Goddmamn! That was a great album. I remember playing the record again and again in my bachelor pad in my late twenties. As a matter of fact, after finishing this blog post. I'll play it again. Fortunately, the album is now up on Spotify. I don't have a clue where the hell that CD got to. I'm now a married dad, so of course, I had to move to a bigger place. It must still be up in my attic somewhere, I'm sure of it!
Fortunately, what I never lost was my stack of "Stadium Arcadium" posters all signed by the band! You read that right! A few years ago, I met with the Red Hot Chili Peppers after a concert of their during one of their North American tours. It was an amazing experience, and while my memories of that night may be a little blurred—might have been a little tipsy that time—I will never forget the exhilarating feeling of actually meeting my heroes!
My buddy Hector hooked me up with the passes to see them backstage after their concerts. It was one of my gifts to my fiancee (now wife) at the time. A final attempt to really impress her before we tied the knot. Of course, the concert was more than enough as it was and that I paid for by myself. I'm telling you. they've always been hot! Hence their band name!
Anyways, I and my wife, led by Hector, made our way into the backstage area and saw them. They were, as expected, shirtless, but still looked like rockstars! I was so excited I think I might have peed a little. Thank God my jeans were black then, so even if I did, it wasn't that noticeable. And I don't remember slipping on any puddle whilst backstage, so it might have been little pee.
Okay, nevermind the pee. The Red Hot Chili Peppers were incredible in person. Surprisingly, they were kinda chill when they're not performing. Whenever you'd see them, you'd probably expect them to have intense personalities, but not really. They seemed just chill and nice and polite, just like any other person in the world. In fact, they were so nice, they signed all of my "Stadium Arcadium" posters. Not just one, but all of the extra copies as well!
To my fellow Red Hot Chili Peppers fans out there, we did good in the band we chose as our favorite! Now, I'm off to play that album again!
Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
