Fair warning: if you ever want to be an autograph hound, don't ever, under any circumstance, sneeze in front of your favorite celebrity. To this day, one of the most embarrassing to ever happen in my life was when I accidentally sneezed at Ben Affleck. Don't worry, I didn't give him my germs, but it was humiliating nonetheless!
Okay, some context: I attended a shooting of a famous late-night talk show where the entire cast of "Superman vs. Batman: Dawn of Justice" were the guests. I'm not gonna say whose show it was, but needless to say, he's the only funny carrot-top on TV! Anyways, as expected, the cast was amazing. Henry Cavill looked extremely handsome, Amy Adams was perfectly charming, Gal Gadot was undeniably sexy, and so on. And when we were allowed to wait for them at the studio's stage door, I made sure I'd have access to the stars for them to sign my movie posters.
Luckily, I got a great spot. I was so ready to meet and chat a little with all of them until I realized that my allergies started acting up. Though I had my handkerchief with me, I was leaking like a broken pipe! I was so worried that might gross out these A-list celebs that I ripped up a piece of tissue paper from my bag and clogged my nostrils while I waited for them. The moment they stepped out, I threw those soaked bits of tissue and asked them to sign my posters. I was fine when I met most of them, it was as if I never had allergies in the first place. And they were all kind enough to sign my copies even though I had like five or six with me.
But then, Ben Affleck came. This big Hollywood star had an intimidating aura about him that may have brought my allergies back. And, as if it was planned, the moment he stood right in front of me, I let out a big sneeze. Thank God I had the time to get my handkerchief to cover my face, but I sneezed so hard the actor was taken aback! "Woah! Are you okay there, buddy?" I remember him asking. And I just nodded sheepishly. I assured him I'm fine and then he signed my posters.
I don’t know why Ben Affleck has a reputation for being a sleazy Hollywood type. He was nice to me, and I sneezed right in front of him. But I urge you not to do the same!!!
