I hate to admit it, but when I saw the last installment of the "Shrek" franchise, "Shrek: The Final Chapter," I shed a tear or two. I never anticipated getting so emotional. I did grow up with "Shrek," and the fact that his story was ending told me that my childhood was ending too.
Fortunately, I and my team met the mighty Mike Myers at a random event. Well, it wasn't a random event, per se, but rather it was an anniversary event for "Austin Powers." But even though we were there to meet Myers, we honestly didn't give a hoot about "Austin Powers." We were to get our Shrek posters signed.
And so we endured about two hours about people talking about arguably his most iconic role but we were there because of his second-most iconic role. I'm sorry Austin Powers, but Shrek will always be my favorite Mike Myers character.
After waiting for so long, I and my team had our posters signed. We even had to accompany our "Shrek" posters with "Austin Powers" posters, just so we won't stick out like sore thumbs. We didn't want to seem strange to him even though we really were there for "Shrek: The Final Chapter." Fortunately, he was none the wiser and simply signed out posters. They're now some of my most prized possessions.
But now, I've decided to share my childhood with all of you. I just wanted you all to know that I risked looking like a complete whacko in front of Mike Myers to get them!
Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
