Looking Like a Pink Pig Meeting Pink Floyd

Fair warning to all you concert-goers, be careful with what you wear. You never know what you might end up looking like at the end of the concert. Especially if you're planning to meet your favorite artist right after. I'll never forget my fashion faux pas when I met Pink Floyd.

I'd like to think that I have good taste when it comes to clothes. I wouldn't call myself a fashionista, but I have impressed with my outfits many times. But one time, at a Pink Floyd concert, I may have overthought my fashion choices a little bit. It was Valentine's Day weekend, and that year, I was celebrating it as a single woman after three years of being in a relationship. I wasn't depressed or anything like that. but I did need my girlfriends and a  great concert to pick myself up. Fortunately, we bought our tickets months before. We didn't time it directly to be near Valentine's Day, but hey, it happened.

As a group of single women, we decided to mock the commercial lovey-dovey holiday by wearing red and pink outfits. A part of us wanted to look ridiculous as a huge "FU" to the holiday, but I still wanted to look good. There was a meet-and-greet with the band right after the concert and I planned for them to sign my many copies of their poster.

Of course, my girlfriends all helped me with it. So, in an attempt to meet halfway, I wore my best pink skinny jeans and a cute pink halter top. At the time, I had put on weight out of stress-eating because the breakup. And with my blonde hair, let's just say I looked like an old 80s Barbie doll who let herself go.

I knew I looked ridiculous with the monochrome outfit alone, but I didn't care. Some of my friends looked way worse with their own pink and red ensembles. Anyways, one of them, Midge, brought tons of alcohol so that we'd really party that night. And party we did! None of us got drunk or anything, but I'm telling you, with the buzz of the alcohol and the greatness that is Pink Floyd playing live, I was lit the entire time! It felt amazing.

Unfortunately, however, I forgot that alcohol made my skin blush. In my attempt to freshen up before falling in line at the band's meet-and-greet right after the concert, I discovered I looked like a pink blushing pig. At first, I stressed about it, but then my girlfriends came in, said I looked gorgeous, and let me out of my funk. I don't deny I still looked like Piglet from "Winnie the Pooh," but I didn't have a care in the world.

Neither did Pink Floyd! When I met them, they, adorably, got a little why I my skin was blushing hard. I told them that apart from my excitement of meeting them, I had a little too much to drink during the concert. They laughed and signed my poster, as well as the other copies my friends held for me.

I'd like to think I made one of them blush, but hey, a girl can dream, can't she? Anyways, let my drunken adventure serve as a warning. If you go red when drinking alcohol, it's better to forego any red or pink outfits!
