I just have to say it, "Homeland" should be more popular than it is. Don't get me wrong, it's a pretty successful series in its own right. But with how amazing the plots are, the incredible cinematography, and, of course, the outstanding cast, I feel people don't praise it enough.
I certainly do all the time! Sometimes, even to the point where my friends and family would get annoyed with me and not watch it out of spite! Yeah, got a little counter-productive on that one! Anyway, since that happened. I redirected my attention to hyping up the show myself instead. I'd follow all the cast members on social media, always retweet them on Twitter, like and comment on their Instagram posts, and would regularly share YouTube clips of the show on Facebook. You could say I became a devoted fan through and through.
Eventually, my devotion culminated in getting to meet the cast themselves during a red carpet premiere of one of their earlier seasons. Through social media, I was able to meet fellow "Homeland" fans and they got me tickets to attend such an event! Not only that, but they also told me that they'd bring posters and get the cast's autographs and that I can keep some of the copies. This is what genuine fandom is all about!
To say that I was excited the entire night is an understatement. I mean, sure, I like these actors because they star in my favorite show of all time. However, these cast members are also Hollywood icons in their own right! Mandy Patinkin, Claire Danes, Damian Lewis, Rupert Friend—they're some of the creams of the crop in the industry. I'm especially drawn to Claire Danes because I watched many of her films growing up. She was the biggest teen idol during my youth. And, of course, Mandy Patinkin also holds a special place in my heart because "Princess Bride" is still one of my most favorite movies too!
Looking back at that night, I was happiest to see that most of the cast members were nice in real life. Claire Danes was an absolute beauty. Though it was clear she had aged, she did so gracefully and was so elegant! When I asked for her autograph and she stood right in front of me, I was almost tempted to bow because it really felt like I was in front of royalty. It was also the same with Mandy Patinkin. This guy is such a well-respected actor, both on screen and on stage, that yes, I also felt he was show business royalty. I did my heart good to know they were generous with giving autographs.
Eventually, I got the rest of the cast to sign out posters too. That really made the night even more incredible adding to the fact that a new season of "Homeland" was finally airing again! All of you who aren't watching this show, I'm telling you, you're really missing out!
