Use “Code 8” To Get Autographs!

I just have to put it out there: just because an autograph hound lives to get autographs, doesn't mean just anybody's will do. Yes, we go crazy, go the extra mile, and exert as much effort as we can to get celebrities' autographs. But it's for those that matter!

Be that as it may, I can't be ungrateful to those who'd get autographs for me regardless if I wanted them in the first place or not. They know I work hard to get these sorts of things, so for them to do the same and to give them to me as a sign of love and friendship, fills my heart nonetheless. You probably don't know what I'm talking about, do you? Well, a few years ago, a buddy of mine who works in Hollywood got me the autographs of the movie he worked on. It was "Code 8" starring Stephen and Robbie Amell, Kari Matchett, Greg Bryk, and more.

He surprised me one day when he gave me a stack of the movie's posters signed by the cast members. None of them, mind you, are my particular favorites. Yes, I knew of them, but I wasn't that big of a fan that I'd hound for their autographs. So as much as I appreciated my friend's effort, I honestly didn't know if I wanted to accept them or not. Especially when he sounded a bit condescending when he gave them to me. "You like autographs, right?" he asked. He wasn't being mean or anything, but the ignorance of what a true autograph hound such as myself strives for still peeved me a bit.

Nevertheless, knowing he was a shy guy and it probably took him guts to approach these actors, I still accepted them with a smile. Then, I figured, I'd watch the movie to better appreciate the poster and the autographs on them the very least. To my complete surprise, I ended up loving the movie! It was action-packed, it had great drama, and the best part of all, the actors were great. Not necessarily Oscar-worthy, but commendable! I knew Stephen Amell was already good and his brother wasn't half bad, but the others were just as entertaining! It was then that I finally appreciated the autographed posters!

Eventually, I did feel sort of bad for actually contemplating not accepting my friend's gift. And even more so that I wasn't able to meet the stars myself. What my friend did was sweet and all, but I'm an autograph hound, not just to get autographs, but for the rush of actually meeting a celebrity in person and interacting with them even for just a little but. It's that sort of excitement that gets me going, even if I embarrass myself in front of these famous people from time to time.

Still, I'm grateful for my gift. I'm glad the movie was great and the cast exceeded my expectations. I'm now proud to have their autographs on my collection of signed memorabilia!

lease note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
