The Most Exciting Cast Ever Seen on TV

Years of Comic-Con summers, a line that never ended, and a cast that never walked away from it.

TV was never the same again when The Walking Dead premiered on October 31, 2010. It's pretty fitting that the first episode aired on Halloween, and it only shows how perfect the series was. It was the most riveting TV in a long while, along with the most exciting cast I've ever watched.

Zombie-centric media only works when you have a cast worth rooting for. And let me tell you, it was easy to root for Rick, Daryl, Michonne, Glenn, Carol, Maggie, Carl, and everyone else. You wanted them to survive, and whenever they came out on top, you celebrated with them.

The cast really made it easy for me to enjoy the show even though I hate zombies. They were always the scariest monsters for me, and I'm sure I would be one of the first to turn into one if a zombie apocalypse really does happen in real life.

It's part of why I loved the show. I loved seeing these characters fight and beat the crap out of those zombies. I enjoyed watching them survive the apocalypse and try to live as normally as they could, even after the rest of the world ended.

I also loved how accessible the cast was when the show was still on. They frequently appeared at Comic-Con throughout the 2010s, and I went many times and got them to sign my Walking Dead poster. Though I didn't get to meet all of them, I still saw the most popular ones.

Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Danai Gurira, and more turned up year after year whenever The Walking Dead held a panel at Comic-Con. They'd talk about what's going on in the series, what to expect in the next season, and how the show has impacted their lives.

“I finally felt like I belonged to a big club.”

Seeing Hall H, where their panel took place, always put a big smile on my face, too. I knew the show was popular, but I always loved seeing just how many fans the series had throughout its 11-season run. I always liked the lesser-known stuff, so when my favorite show became a big hit, I finally felt like I belonged to a big club.

Now that I think about it more clearly, it's actually wild that I got as many autographs as I did. I was never one of the fans who camped out overnight for Hall H, so I usually ended up near the back, and when it came to the signings, I was almost always at the tail end of the line.

That I still got to see them in person and had them sign my poster at all speaks to how dedicated they were to their fans. They could've just cut the line off and left when they wanted to, and with how busy they were, I would've understood it. But no, they stayed and got through as many of us as they possibly could.

That period in my life will always be special to me because of The Walking Dead. I had the most fun watching it on TV and meeting its cast at Comic-Con every year. It was the best time ever!
