I've met a lot of great people in my life. My family and friends are great people. My wife is a great person. And my kids? Yup, they're the greatest! I've also met a few celebrities here and there, even a few presidents in between. But perhaps that one person who really made an impression on me was Indiana Jones.
You read that right! I had the utmost privilege of meeting one of Hollywood's greatest icons, Harrison Ford, at an exclusive Hollywood party one time. What was I doing there, you ask? Well, I was the host of the event. I kept the party going even when, at times, it really was rather dull. But for me, what kept me going was the fact that Indiana Jones was there. I dare not disappoint the icon himself. So as much as I wanted to give up at times, and when other people were no longer paying attention to me, I kept the party going.
And I even think I was rewarded for it. You see, one of the sponsors of the said party hired me for that night. It was a favor actually, cause the guy was one of my wife's close friends in high school. I had been a struggling actor then and I really needed the work. However, my "boss" really liked my work that night so he introduced me to another of his dear friends, Mr. Ford himself. I was gobsmacked when I shook hands with the legend!
And you know what? Even he liked my work too. Well, I know he gets bored easily so he didn't even need to say that. But it did lift my spirits a bit knowing that THE Harisson Ford thinks I can liven up the party. Without hesitation, I asked him if it'd be alright if he would sign my "Indiana Jones and The Raiders of the Lost Ark" posters I had in my car. He agreed!
Not caring how dumb I looked, I dashed all the way to my car in the parking lot and practically squinted back to the party. There, I met Harisson again, gave him my posters, and he wrote on each one. I honestly thought he'd just sign one and be done with it. But no! The movie icon actually signed each and every copy of the classic movie poster that I had.
Until this very day, seeing one of the posters framed and hung inside our apartment still gives me chills. Also because I got the rest of the cast and Steven-freakin'-Spielberg himself to sign them too when I attended a special anniversary event. Can you tell I'm an Indiana Jones fan?
Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
