James Bond's Best Movie Ever

A first red carpet, a gentleman Bond, and a villain who made sure the poster got one more signature.

Controversial as it may be to call one the best James Bond film, I think Skyfall takes the cake. The stakes were never higher for 007 and MI6 than in Skyfall, which made for a more exciting plot than in previous movies. You also can't go wrong with having Javier Bardem as your villain.

The jury is still out on whether Daniel Craig is the best James Bond ever. I have no qualms crowning him the winner of that race, but when it comes to the best Bond film, I can't help but give it to Skyfall. Everything about it is perfect, from the casting and the script to the cinematography and the music. Who could forget Adele's beautiful song for the movie, too?

I admit my bias doesn't just come from my preferences. I'll always remember Skyfall fondly since it was the first time I got autographs from actual celebrities. It was just my luck that I was in London when the movie premiered, so I went to the red carpet event and saw the cast in person.

The night was a total frenzy, to say the least, but I'm still grateful I got to experience it. I never really felt compelled to do that before. I love watching movies, and I'm a big fan of many actors, but I don't obsess over celebrity culture.

So imagine my shock in having my first celebrity encounter be the stars of Skyfall. This was Craig's third outing as Bond, and having loved the first two, I couldn't believe I was seeing the cast in real life. I immediately realized why people screamed at celebrities on red carpets.

Daniel Craig grabbed my attention from the get-go. Posing for the cameras in his tailored suit, he looked like Bond on and off the screen. I initially didn't think he was right for the part before I saw him in Casino Royale, but seeing him in person erased all my doubts.

Despite how intimidating he looks with his rugged features, he was also very nice. He was a gentleman through and through, not letting all the screaming and shouting get to him. He even signed my Skyfall movie poster when I asked, and because of that, I got the confidence to ask the rest of the cast, too.

After him, I was most excited to see Javier Bardem. I loved him in No Country for Old Men, and when I found out he'd be playing the Bond villain in Skyfall, I knew it was going to be a hit. No one can play a bad guy quite like him, and he has the Oscar to prove it.

Not only did Bardem sign my poster when I asked, but he called over the very beautiful Bérénice Marlohe, who was nearby, to sign it too. He didn't have to do that, but I was still grateful that he did. For a guy who's mastered the art of playing villains, Javier Bardem was one of the nicest celebrities I ever met.

It didn't take long to meet the rest of the cast and get their autographs after that. They were all just as lovely, and no one refused my request. I eventually got all of the big stars to sign my poster, and to think that was my first time doing that sort of thing.

The movie itself was the perfect cherry on top. I would've still been grateful had it been a flop, but I'm glad it ended up being a massive hit, the first Bond film ever to cross a billion dollars. I still watch it now and then, and when I do, all of my memories of that night come flooding back.
