Viva Las Vegas!! I'll be screaming that all my life. For me, it's one of the best places on earth. Exciting games, delicious foods, and a nightlife so amazing, it would put New York to sleep! However, what I love most about the city is that it was where I met my favorite artist in the world, Janet Jackson.
It was my 30th birthday. Me and my girls went to Las Vegas to have a good time and to see this goddess perform. We went to all the casinos, saw the iconic white chapel, even met up with too many Elvis impersonators. At first, I've always thought that Las Vegas was just an illusion. That it wasn't as exciting as people made it out to be, Boy, was I wrong! It was better than I ever expected. The perfect place to enter my thirties!
And we went to see Janet Jackson live at her residency show, I was breathless the entire night. I didn't know I was able to literally not speak nor move for a couple of hours. I was just taken with how much of a performer she is. She was unbelievable that night. A true star that others can only dream of becoming.
The best part, however, was that my girls surprised me after the show. They told me to wait in a hall as they went off to do something. After a couple of minutes, someone said hello to me from the back and it was Janet Jackson herself! I may have screamed my lungs out when I saw her, or cried so much that I think I even peed a little. Either way, I'm sure I did either of the two or even both. That's how much of a mess I was when I saw her up close.
My friend hooked me up with a private meet and greet cause she was tight with one of her managers. Janet (yass, I called her by her first name, but she allowed me though!) and I chatted a little and she gave me a couple of signed posters of her iconic "Control" cover album. I will cherish them for the rest of my life.
However, I don't need all of them. And when I gave some to my girls, I still had a few extra. And so, to give good Karma back to the universe, I'm giving them away through this site. I hope y'all enjoy them as much I did!
