Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story below:
Autograph-hounding isn't just a hobby for me, it's a family tradition. My grandfather started during the days of Cary Grant, Greta Garbo, and Clark Gable. My dad carried it out with Audrey Hepburn, Robert Redford, and Faye Dunaway. And now I'm doing it with the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Charlize Theron.
But then, since a lot of the stars from my dad's time are still alive, I tried to get into his territory from time to time. Nowadays, even though he's retired—which one might think is the best time to autograph-hound—he no longer has the energy to do it. And so sometimes, if I can, I do it for him.
One of the more recent that I did was to get two important autographs from the cast of "The Godfather III." He already got most of the legendary main cast: Al Pacino, Diane Keaton, Talia Shire, etc. But two of the younger actors in the movie, namely Andy Garcia’s and Sophia Coppola’s, he forgot to get. They simply weren’t that big at the time
Being the OCD that he is, he thought that since these actors were still active in the movie biz. I'd be able to hound for their autographs. Turns out, it was easier than I thought. Well, at least for these two specific people. For Andy Garcia, I was lucky enough to have known a friend of his who lives near him. I asked him to do it for me as a favor, and to convince Garcia to sign him, I told my buddy to tell him that it's for an elderly fan (which was technically true!). Sure enough, my friend gave back the posters all signed by Andy Garcia.
As for Sophia Coppola, I saw her when she had a talk about her latest directorial films. "The Beguiled" which starred Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, and Elle Fanning. I really wished I went there to get the star-studded cast's autographs, but alas, I was there for the director. I wouldn't say that Sophia equals her father, but I do appreciate that she's developed a signature style of her own. Anyways, she signed my posters and my mission was accomplished.
My dad was ecstatic that I got to complete the autographs on the movie posters. Allowing me to give the rest away through this site, he kept one copy of each "Godfather" movie in his house. Next to me, they're his prized possessions!
