Chasing After Vincent, Jules, and Mia for Years

Adele Dazeem night, a Tribeca carpet, and one Marvel premiere — the trio, collected.

By an anonymous Hollywood insider

Name a more iconic movie trio than Vincent Vega, Jules Winnfield, and Mia Wallace from Pulp Fiction. I'll wait.

Oh, you can't? That's right! Because no other main trio had made quite as big an impact as these three. And yes, I'm lumping them together. I know Mia and Jules were barely seen together, but their simultaneous connection to Vincent is enough for me to consider them the movie's core threesome.

In any case, the actors eventually cultivated this dynamic over the years. Though Pulp Fiction boasts an all-star cast that also included Bruce Willis, Tim Roth, Christopher Walken, and Harvey Keitel, most fans remember the main trio the most. Their 2022 Academy Awards reunion is solid proof.

They're also the three best celebrities I ever asked for an autograph. I've met countless movie stars, including the rest of the Pulp Fiction cast, but none were as memorable as Travolta, Jackson, and Thurman. I chased after them for about a decade, and each encounter was worth the wait.

I remember meeting John Travolta the most since that night was pretty infamous for him. It was at the 86th Academy Awards, where he mistakenly introduced Idina Menzel as “Adele Dazeem.” I still laugh about it to this day because I literally met both of them on the red carpet hours before.

“I was there when a meme was created, and I got to meet the man at the center of it all.”

Because of that, I can't help but remember that iconic faux pas whenever I see Travolta's autograph on this Pulp Fiction poster. It's also become one of my most popular anecdotes at parties. I was there when a meme was created, and I got to meet the man at the center of it all.

Three years later, I met Uma Thurman at the Tribeca Film Festival. She attended the premiere of the House of Z documentary about fashion designer Zac Posen. She even posed with the man himself on the red carpet, and that's where I finally got her to sign my poster.

She looked beautiful and seemed to be having the time of her life that night. When I saw her up close, I still made out the beautiful Mia Wallace I loved on screen. The woman barely aged more than two decades later. Even now, she's still a knockout!

I suppose I have to thank the Marvel Cinematic Universe for casting Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. It made my life much easier. The actor appeared in countless movie premieres for the franchise, so it didn't take long for me to get his autograph.

Eventually, I met him at the LA premiere of Avengers: Infinity War in 2018. The night was hectic, to say the least, but I still managed to ask him to sign two of my movie posters, Pulp Fiction and Infinity War.

Besides Bruce Willis, I met the rest of the cast and got them to sign the same poster over the years. I'm a bit sad I missed the opportunity to get his, especially now that he's retired from acting. I likely won't ever get it, but it's alright. These three autographs are more than enough!

Some things you watch. This one you keep.
