A Scintillating Soiree With Sweeny Todd

Damn, I wish they made more movie musicals. I remember around 2006 up until 2008 or 2009, Hollywood made a lot of them. There was "Hairspray!," "Dreamgirls," "High School Musical," and my personal favorite, "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street." I even remember the latter's red carpet premiere!

As a huge Tim Burton fan, I wasn't gonna let this movie premiere pass me by. Fortunately, I was already in London at the time so I was able to go to the event. Accompanied by my fellow Burton fans, we snagged a couple of movie posters and planned to get them signed. It wasn't easy, of course, since there were a lot of people there. Especially women! Around that time, Johnny Depp was one of the biggest leading men out there and girls, including my sister who was with me, were going crazy over him.

In fact, it was thanks to my sister that we got Johnny Depp's autograph in the first place. She screamed so loudly as the actor posed for the cameras nearby that it caught his attention. I never knew her shrill annoying voice, which always nagged me while growing up, would be of help someday. Imagine that! LOL!

Anyway, being the good guy that he is, Johnny Depp signed all of our posters and the rest of the cast followed. The legendary Alan Rickman, the extraordinary Helena Bonham-Carter, the amazing Timothy Spall, and more. One by one, these esteemed British actors signed our posters and I was losing my mind. Half of it was because I can't believe they'd give their autographs just like that. And the other half was the anticipation that Tim Burton was gonna sign out posters next.

As I expected, after HBC (Helena Bonham-Carter) signed out posters, Tim Burton then came to our area. They were still together at the time, I think, and so it made sense that wherever she went, he would inevitably follow. I was absolutely speechless at his presence. There, standing right in front of me, was the man I admired a lot. His movies changed me and he remains a strong influence in my life to this very day. The fact that I got his autograph that night still sends shivers down my spine.

I don't remember much after that. I don't think I hardly watched the film either. I had to see it again just to actually watch it in its entirety. But don't worry! That night will always stay in my memories. And luckily, I have the best proof that it happened: these autographed posters!

Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
