I'm sure the movie red carpet premieres in LA are fun and exciting but the ones that take place here in New York are truly something else! In my opinion, they've always seemed more eventful. Like it was a bigger deal than it you’d think it is. Case in point: the premiere for "The Rhythmic Section" back in January 2020.
Well, perhaps my opinion is a bit of a generalization, especially since "The Rhythmic Section" stars Blake Lively, one of the most fashionable actresses of our time. And boy did she look incredible that night! She had on this sexy black gown and a sparkly necklace. It was like she was from the 1940s Old Hollywood or something! You'd think that a star this glamorous would be a snob, right? Well, she's far from it! I asked for her autograph on my copies of the movie's poster and she happily signed all of them. She was really friendly too! Man, Ryan Reynolds is lucky!
Then there was Jude Law, every bit the suave leading man! Though he has a beard on, he looked great for his age. Well, the guy has always looked great. I've met him at many red carpet events before too and he always looked good. And nice! This guy is so kind and friendly, I almost couldn't believe that he's a Hollywood heavyweight! Whilst he was posing for the paparazzi, he saw my stack of movie posters, went right at me, and said, "Hey buddy, want me to sign those?" I, of course, said yes! I gotta admit, I almost swooned even though I'm a straight guy!
Unfortunately, Sterling K. Brown, who I was most excited to see, wasn't there! The rest of the cast were though, including Max Casella and Daniel Mays. They, too, were kind enough to sign all of my posters that night. As for Brown, I asked my friend who lived in LA to ask him to sign my posters. After a few weeks, I finally got them back, all signed by that incredible actor. Damn! I really wish I could have met him in person!
Looking back at that time, I finally realized that, even though I've been to thousands of red carpet events already, they really were eventful. Each and every one of them! And it took a global pandemic and about a year of staying home for me to realize that! Now I miss going to one!
Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
