You know, when you get to the Big Apple, you really need to hustle. It's like that in practically every city in the world, but here in NYC, it's a lot more competitive and cut-throat! You'd think, just by moving here that the opportunity to success will just knock on your door. Nuh-huh, honey! It don't work that way here on the East Side!
Believe me, I moved here from Long Beach a couple of years back and I'm still on the entry-level phase of my career. Not complainin' though, just gotta keep hustlin'! However, one of the perks of living in NYC is getting to meet all sorts of celebs. One that I'll never forget though was meeting my queen, JLo! Yass gurl, I met Miss Lopez herself and even got her autograph! Though have to walk, like, a thousand blocks to get to her! Still, she is pretty and amazing in person! A-Rod be gettin' it every night, fo sho!
One of my friends from LA sent me a couple of posters of her new movie "Hustlers" and he wanted me to get them all signed by JLo herself. He was going to try to get to her himself when the movie premiered in Hollywood, but since I was already in the same city as the queen, he figured I should try my luck. At first, I was like, "Damn! who do you think you is!?" But then meeting JLo seemed a lot more fun so I tried my luck. Thank the lord luck really was on my side cause I saw her in Times Square, riding on this big-ass "Hustlers," and she was kissin' and smilin' for the fans. Queen was lit!
But what did I say before? In this city, a b*tch gotta hustle, and so I did! When the bus started moving and going to all of these avenues and sh*t, I followed that sucker like a cat chasin’ a mouse! I was Tom and Jerry-in this sh*t up and I didn’t care if I looked like a damn fool! All I know is I wanted to meet JLo and get her autograph. But you know what? This b*tch was dumb too. Apparently, after she toured about 1/3 of Manhattan, she was going to have a fan-meet near Rockefeller. And so, I went there, waited for about half an hour, and met her. I didn't need to go all up those blocks, chasing the bus like a deranged fan.
Thank God my friend was grateful that I got his autographs for him. If he wasn't, I swear I would have slapped the living daylights outta him! And good for him that he was able to get the rest of the cast's autographs (including another queen of mine, Lizzo! HEEEY!!!!) during the movie's Hollywood premiere. Hope y'all like the posters too! Lord knows I worked hard for 'em!
Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
