"Spirited Away" will always be one of my favorite movies of all time. As a Japanese-American, of course, it makes me proud that something from my mother's motherland got this much recognition. But as a general fan, it's simply an excruciatingly beautiful story about a little girl's adventure of saving her parents.
I was privileged enough to have met the English voice cast of the film when they held a tribute event celebrating the film's 10th anniversary. Most of them were there: Daveigh Chase, who was now all grown up, the lovely Susan Egan, the handsome James Marsden, and the very talented Tara Strong. It was a rather small event, which surprised me as I know a lot of people who would have loved to have attended it, but at least I had easy access to the stars.
I brought with me a few copies of the movie poster and, once the screening and the Q&A were through, I went in for the kill. Thank goodness they were all in a good mood, as I had quite a few posters with me. I knew I would have annoyed the hell out of them if they were all under the weather that day. I know the guys who stood behind me were. But I didn't care! All of these amazing stars signed my posters and that's all I wanted!
See "Spirited Away" when you can! Let go of your prejudices against Japanese anime and revel in this animated masterpiece! It's worth every minute!
Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
