Stop whatever you're doing right now and stream "Outside the Wire" on Netflix this instant! When I tell you that this is the movie of the season... I ain't joking! It's one of the best films I've seen in the past few years—or at least, when the pandemic happened—and I've seen a lot! But truth be told, I like it because I met the cast of the movie myself too.
I can't disclose where and how I met the cast of "Outside the Wire" but I can say that it was part of their promotional junket. That should tell you the nature of my job as well. Anyway, the cast, which included Anthony Mackie, Damson Idris, Emily Beecham, Michael Kelly, Kristina Tonteri-Young, Pilou Asbæk, and Enzo Cilenti, was amazing. They didn't have any big ego and they were a pleasure to work with. I was most impressed with Mackie because he's since become this huge star thanks to Marvel but he didn't have a big head because of it. Not like other Marvel actors I know...
Back to my story, my "work thing" with them took an entire day and it left all of us exhausted. But damn, these guys are pros! By the end of the day, I could tell they were tired but they kept up their happy facades in front of us "little people." In short, they didn't let out their diva attitudes. They persevered well, so much so that I decided to challenge them one last time.
And by challenge, I meant asking for their autographs. I'm sure the last thing an exhausted Hollywood actor would want to see after a hard day's work is a fan asking them for their autographs. They got no time for that! Hell, I'm not a celebrity and even I know I wouldn't have time for that. But the troll in me couldn't stop. I knew they could literally cuss me out and get me to lose my job but I did it anyway. That's how much of a risk-taker I am. Or a jackass, depending on how you look at it.
I was so ready to stir the pot but you know what? I got my ass handed to me! No one screamed nor cussed me out. I got a few glares and stank stares but for the most part, they signed my movie posters without a complaint. Anthony Mackie looked the most professional at it. As if I was some pre-pubescent Marvel fan who approached him at comic-con, he was very nice and accommodating about it. And I could've sworn, he said "Here you go, bud!" after he finished singing all of them. What am I, a child? At that moment, I felt like one!
Long story short, I got the cast of "Outside the Wire" to sign my posters of the movie. I did it to be an ass and I sure felt like one at the end of the day. But you know what? Even though they stepped on my ego, it made me love the movie more. Funny, huh?
Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
