Everyone should watch "Sex Education" on Netflix. It is, without a doubt, the most realistic portrayal of adolesence dealing with sex for the first time. Not to mention a deeper look into the young psyche when faced with all sorts of sexual situations. I'm a huge fan of the series myself, and it's mostly because of the lead stars.
When I was in London for vacation a few years ago, my friend told me that the second season of "Sex Education" was going to have its red carpet premiere soon. He got tickets to the event and wanted me to accompany him. The moment I heard that, I instantly knew I had to jump at the chance of getting the cast's autographs. I've already binged-watched the first season multiple times already and I was so excited about the second one. So without a care in the world, I freed up my schedule that night just to see these amazing stars.
Honestly, it was the best decision I made during that vacation. I met most of the cast members and got their autographs on a few copies of the series poster! Right off the bat, Gillian Anderson stood out to me as having the best star quality of them all. You can tell, just by how she presented herself, how she moved, how she talked, and more that this was a major celebrity. A seasoned star that was showing her fellow younger cast members the ropes. And when I asked for her autograph, she sounded so posh, I swear I thought I was meeting a member of the Royal Family or something!
Another who caught my eye was Emma Mackey, my favorite among the teens in the show. Damn, she really does look like Margo Robbie, but with that London punkish-made English Rose-type appeal. She looked so beautiful and sophisticated, it's almost weird that she plays the most rebellious out of all the characters in the show.
Adorable is the best word to describe the duo of Asa Butterfield and Ncuti Gatwa. Their chemistry on-screen was already spot on, but in real life? You can really tell that htey're good friends. Butterfield was already looking cute since he has such a babyface (truth be told, it's almost scary how young-looking he is!), but with Gatwa's vivaciousness, they really make an awesome pair! And let me just point out how amazing it is to have a best friend duo that's made up of one that's straight and the other that's gay without a weird romantic thing going on between them. Just pure bromance all the way!
The rest of the cast were, of course, just as great but these these lead stars that, for me, makes the show as awesome as it is. To anyone who hasn't seen it, y'all are missing out on one of the best teen sex comedies ever!
