The Green Lanterns Glows on The Red Carpet

While most people know Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, I'm old enough to remember him as the Green Lantern. Was he good at it? He was fine. Was it a good film? Debatable. But I did get to meet him, his wife Blake Lively, and the rest of the cast at the movie premiere.

It was at the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre and it was a fairly glamorous affair. The MCU had just recently started at the time so everyone was excited about a brand new superhero film. And while the Green Lantern is from DC, the buzz around this movie was still a lot. I remember it being a pretty hectic night myself. So much so that if not for the posters that I asked the cast to sign, I wouldn't have believed that I met these incredible actors in person. How I ever got close to them is still beyond me.

All I can remember from that hazy night was that I shouted a lot. I screamed at Reynolds and he looked at me weirdly. I shouted at the sight of Blake Lively and she giggled. I even hollered at Peter Sarsgaard and Tim Robbins but they initially ignored me.

Make no mistake, these celebrities are nice people. Or at least, they were nice enough to entertain an overexcited fan such as me. Despite the first impression I gave to them, they still approached me and signed my posters. Think back on it, since what I brought were posters, they found it the easiest to sign. I remember the people around me handing out little notebooks and even phone cases. I know for a fact that writing on those can be a bi**h!

Anyway, that's my story of how I got these "Green Lantern" posters signed. Unfortunately, not all the cast members attended the premiere. Some, namely the legendary Geoffrey Rush, were nowhere to be found that night. Instead of crying about it, I asked my friends—who are Hollywood insiders, I may add—to get the rest of the cast to sign them. After a month or so, I got back my posters with the rest of the autographs.

It's a shame the "Green Lantern" didn't do as well as everyone thought it would. But I'm glad Ryan Reynolds got another chance with "Deadpool." And if you're wondering... yes, I got him to sign some "Deadpool" posters too. But that's a story for another time.

Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
