Dancing With Movie Giants

I'm proud to say that "Dirty Dancing" is one of my favorite films. Sure, it's not the pinnacle of movie-making, but it's an exceptionally flick that's classic, upbeat, and makes me happy. At the end of the day, isn't that what it's all about? For films to make you happy?

I love this film so much that I even once attended a special anniversary event for it years ago. And I'm so glad I did because it was at that event where I saw the actual stars of the film. I kid you not! What I thought would be just a small gathering of the cult classic's fans celebrating the milestone anniversary of the movie was actually a big celebration where even the actors who starred in it attended. Patrick Swayze, Jennifer Grey, Kelly Bishop—they were all there. It was spellbinding seeing them up close and personal. I was completely starstruck.

The night flowed beautifully. It had a red carpet event where the stars posed for paparazzi and were interviewed about the film. Then they had a special screening with a digitally-restored version. Afterward, a forum happened where the cast and a few of the crew members shared their stories about making the film. And it all ended with a huge gala.

It was your typical Hollywood night out and even some of today's celebrities looked like fans of the main cast. I don't blame them, the movie really was that phenomenal. I was fortunate enough to be my friend's date in the event as she covered it for her work. But I was so starstruck, I might have embarrassed her a little. Still, my friend was so exceptional that she even helped me get my posters signed by the main cast themselves.

One by one, after she interviewed them a little for her article, she introduced me and asked if they could sign my posters. To my complete and utter shock, they didn't just do it, they were happy to do it. I'll never forget how Swayze (RIP Legend!)  smiled at me while he wrote on my posters. And Kelly Bishop? She was still as radiant as ever.

If I could repeat that night, I would a thousand times. But alas, I now only have these signed posters to remember it by. I only ever really needed one or two, so the rest I'm sharing with all of you here on this site.

Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
