Once in every fan's life, he/she gets lucky enough to encounter his/her idol. That person will experience a completely different feeling that will combine nervousness, excitement, and passion all rolled into one. It will be overwhelming at first, but once the initial shock fades, that person will finally feel the fulfillment of actually meeting his/her favorite star.
How do I know this? I've experienced it myself. Yup, at one moment of my life, I became that overeager fan that probably fainted in front of one of the biggest superstars the world has ever seen. Well, I didn't really faint, but inside, I'm sure I fainted so much I think I practically died. It was when he spoke to me that I got resurrected into a better world where I met Prince (yes!! Prince!!).
What was so stellar about it was that I got him to sign a few copies of his "Purple Rain" poster while it was actually raining. It was right after his concert, he, surprisingly, still had enough energy to meet fans. Of course. I doubt he expected the overexcitement his fans showed him. If he thought we'd be as tired as he was, he thought wrong. And even in the rain, we never let our excitement die down. It's Prince, for Pete's sake!
I honestly don't remember much about our encounter. I do remember standing in line and finally walking up to him, but after we shook hands, I think that's about the time my mind went black with excitement. If not for my autographed posters, I wouldn't have believed my friend (who was with me at the time) who kept reminding me that I really did meet Prince.
That's how I was able to get these posters signed. At least. I hope I did. Honestly, if my friend had told me that it was actually she who met Prince after I fainted at the sight of him, I would have believed her!
