Man, things sure were more fantastical before the pandemic, weren't they? Before Covid-19 walked in and destroyed all of our lives, we were enjoying life outside, partying, and enjoying each others' company. I still remember the last time I had a fun time outside. It was during the red carpet premiere of "Fantasy Island" here in LA!
I'm actually an autograph hound so you could say that going to these types of events is my hobby. I've been to so many since I moved to LA a few years back. And the stars that I've met? Y'all would have a field day listing them down! I had fun at each and every red carpet event I attended. And the last one back in February 2020, was just as fantastical! I met Michael Peña, Lucy Hale, Maggie Q, Michael Rooker, and more! More than just meet them, I got them to sign my copies of the movie poster too! Ahh, that was the life!
I remember Lucy Hale was the cutest of them all. She's just my type and I've had a crush on her since she was on "Pretty Little Liars." Well, although she's still little—at least to a 6-footer guy like me—her eyes sure weren't lying! Dang! She could kill anyone with those beauties. And pretty? Damn, this woman is gorgeous! TV didn't do her justice! I was also glad that she was nice to me that night. She smiled so brightly, had selfies with so many fans, and just seemed to have fun. I wanted to take a selfie with her too but I was too nervous. In the end, I only got her autograph. But that was more than enough for me!
The second cast member I met was Michael Peña. Most legit movie fans would know him from "End of Watch" with Jake Gyllenhall, but for a comic book geek such as myself, I'll always see him as 'Luis' from "Ant-Man." Man, he was a riot there! And he's just as fun in real-life too! All jokey and smiley, no wonder he got that role. He did get serious from time to time, posing for the paparazzi and whatnot, but remembering how hilarious he is as 'Luis,' it only made me laugh more! Fortunately, he, too, was (probably still is) a great guy. He signed all of my posters without a hitch!
Jimmy O. Yang and Michael Rooker were two of the other memorable cast members I met that night. You'd probably know Yang from "Crazy Rich Asians" while Rooker was 'Yondu' from "Guardians of the Galaxy." Yep, without the blue makeup, I hardly recognized him too! Both guys were great and just fun to be with. Yang seemed particularly jolly so that was a mood-lifter. After spending hours standing, waiting for more celebrities to arrive, his energy was contagious! Rooker, on the other hand, was every bit the 'Yondu' I remember. I told him how big of a fan I was of "Guardians of the Galaxy" and sneaked in a little message from 'Yondu' on one of the posters. I was floored!
Despite staying (and standing) all-night, I'd prefer to be hounding for autographs instead of staying cooped up in my home any day! Damn! When is this pandemic gonna end? There are still a lot of autographs for me to get!
Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
