Rockstars are Just Like You and Me, Apparently

You never would have thought it, really. but when I met a certain rock band, it's there I realized that these superstars really are just like you and me. At times, they're better, and at other times, they're worse. But there's really nothing like seeing your favorite rockstars do "normal people" things.

The band in question is the Arctic Monkeys. How do I know they're just like you and me? I worked as a production assistant during their music video shoot for "Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino" and I saw them up close and personal. they're magnificent, to say the least, but they're also surprisingly normal. Alex Turner, Matt Helders, Jamie Cook, and Nick O'Malley—each and every one of them had their own quirks that were endearingly human. But to not destroy the myth they have for their fans, I'm not going to specify which is which.

I do remember that it was an interesting video shoot indeed. Arctic Monkey A was feeling down in the dumps. Though one would think he'd have a diva attitude, no, he was just a bit slow then. And by slow, of course, I don't mean stupid. But rather, he was more mellow than usual. Having had plenty of days just like that, I completely got him.

Now, for Arctic Monkey B, I was surprised to learn how he obsessed over a certain candy. The candy is chocolate, can be bought just about anywhere, and is associated with "having a break." It was so fun catching Arctic Monkey B biting off the bar in-between shoots. Sometimes, he'd even sneak in a bite or two whilst filming when the camera wasn't on him. Oh, but I wish it was!

Arctic Monkey C was surprisingly into magic tricks. In-between shots, he'd gather a few of us at a time and try to trick us with a deck of cards. Some tricks worked, while other times, they hilariously didn't. But when he bombed, he didn't cry about it and ruin the day. All he did was laugh it off with us and go on to a new trick that he did better. And as for Arctic Monkey D, well, I can relate to him the most in it that he seemed to enjoy sleep. I honestly can't count how many times I caught him sleeping at the side while he wasn't due on set. I do commend his talent for being able to sleep anywhere. I'm actually jealous of that.

At the end of the long shoot, they all went back to rockstar mode and gave us all signed posters as gratitude. I shyly asked if I could get more than one so I can sell some on this site and they happily obliged. What a great group of relatable rockstars they are!

Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
