You never know who you'll meet when you let your kids decided where to go. Since we live in California, for years they asked me to take them to the Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards. The tickets weren't that expensive (hello, they were for kids!), but man oh man did I not want to go. But one year, they finally made me do it.
To make this less unbearable, I thought I'd get a little autograph-hounding done. My kids loved the movie "Penguins of Madagascar," and so I went and got a few copies of it for their rooms. But then, I thought, "Wouldn't it be nicer if they were signed? Yes, they would!" I gathered up the copies and asked my wife to help me. When we got to the "orange carpet," Good God! It was the loudest place I've ever been to in my adult life! It was like a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese, only noisier! But, my children loved it there, so I had put up and shut up.
For me, the best part about that day was seeing Benedict Cumberbatch, who I was a huge fan of as "Sherlock" and "Doctor Strange." I wasn't entirely sure why he was there, but since he was part of the movie, "Penguins of Madagascar," I went in and got his autograph. I was completely starstruck, more so my wife who was practically speechless in front of him. He signed our posters and went on his merry way.
The rest of the cast: Tom McGrath, Chris Miller, Christopher Knights, and more, all signed our posters as well. Their autographs were the best consolation prizes I and my wife got for going to the Kids' Choice Awards.
Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
