How My Friends Helped Me Get The "Frozen" Cast's Autographs

If you're a parent, you know how dreadful the song "Let It Go" must sound right now. In fact, ever since 2013, you've probably been bombarded by Elsa toys, Anna games, and Olaf plushes. Such was the power of Disney's "Frozen" since it premiered. And as a good father, I aimed to get my daughters almost everything "Frozen."

This is where I got to combine my parenting with my autograph-hounding to give my little ones something extra special. I initially got them the poster of the movie, all framed up and hung in their bedroom. But for me, that wasn't enough. I knew I could get the stars of the movie to sign my posters, and so I did. Fortunately for me, some of them were going to New York many times.

It was around the time that "Frozen" had just debuted on Broadway. For weeks, my daughters begged me to see it. And of course, I'd bring them there, but I waited for when at least one of the voice cast would watch so that I can get their autograph.

Lo and behold, Josh Gad was the first to watch the live Broadway musical. After the performance, my daughters still in awe of having watched their favorite characters live on stage, I got them to meet Mr. Gad himself. He was, fortunately, in a good mood that night and he was nice enough to do the voice for my daughters. I'll always remember how their faces brightened up when he did it!

The second star I got to sign my posters was 'Elsa' herself, Idina Menzel. Though I didn't get her to sign them myself. I have a couple of friends in the Broadway community and so I reached out to them to get to Menzel. Long story short, after a few weeks of anxiety, I got my posters all signed by the 'Adele Dazeem' herself! (Just kidding!). I also did the same to get Santino Fontana's autograph as well. He voiced the villain, Prince Hans in the movie and just like Menzel, was still an active part of the Broadway community.

As for Kristen Bell, I let my best friend, who saw her live at a late-night talk show, get to her. She, also, accomplished the mission. It just goes to show that in the business of autograph-hounding, friends and connections are extremely important!

Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
