"Blade Runner" was one of those films that shook the earth. Kinda like Star Wars, it pioneered the modern age in cinema back at a time where gangster flicks and dramas dominated the big screen. For me, it made me love movies even more! So when I heard that a sequel was finally coming, I just had to go to the premiere.
For years, "Blade Runner" fans waited for Rick Deckard to once again grace our screens. In 2017, 35 years after the original movie premiered, it finally came! Still starring the incomparable Harrison Ford, "Blade Runner 2049" took us back to the future! This time, he came with Ryan Godling, Jared Leto, and Ana de Armas. I, with a couple of my fellow sci-fi geeks, made it to the premiere to see the legend up close. We wanted to get his autograph so we acquired some copies of the movie poster for him to sign.
When we finally met him, the legendary Harrison Ford, we were surprised at how much of Rick Deckard is still in him. I'm not sure how old he was at the time but he still had that leading man glow that I remember from "Blade Runner," Star Wars," and "Indiana Jones." Man, no wonder he's such an icon. He never turned into an old geezer. As the ladies would say it, he became a silver fox! Meeting him in person and getting his autograph that night was one of the best moments in my life. To this day, he's still my hero and number one favorite actor!
The rest of the cast were also in attendance and we got them to sign out posters too. Ryan Gosling was, as we expected, every bit the leading man in person as he is on screen. He exuded so much sex appeal and swag that my female friend practically swooned when he approached it. Like her legs turned to jelly or something. It might have been less awkward had her husband not been there with us (lol!). I, on the other hand, was captivated by Ana De Armas. Damn, I never knew such a beautiful woman could ever exist. She looked like a doll! And so nice too!
While "Blade Runner 2049" unfortunately did not do so well, I'm still glad my favorite 80s movie got the sequel it deserved! And to do so with a cast of incredible caliber was the best part for me! Nice, good-looking actors who were generous with their autographs! What's not to love?
Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
