Ahh, there really is nothing like your youth. That time when the world was your oyster. That time when everything seemed to align for you. That time when you didn't as many responsibilities as you do now. I miss my youth. And now, especially, since I saw something that reminded me of those good times.
While preparing to transform a storage room into a bedroom, I discovered my collection of signed posters. When I was younger—and when I had more time in my hands—I used to autograph-hound a lot. Living near Los Angeles allowed me to go to all sorts of events where celebrities would also attend. Red carpet premieres, awards shows, watching late-night talk shows, even Lakers games where stars get papped every time.
Out of all the posters I and my friends had signed, what almost brought me to tears was my collection of "Lord of the Rings" posters. Gosh! Talk about a flashback! As a die-hard Tolkien fan, just seeing the movie in the cinemas blew me away. But getting to meet the people that brought my favorite characters to life on-screen? Priceless!
All of their autographs still looked pristine and crystal clear. I did well in preserving them neatly packaged in boxes instead of having them lying down on the floor. I did hang a few of them on our walls though. And I remember how I got each one. My friends also helped me with these as well.
I remember that I always wanted to sell them but I never knew how. Now that this platform exists, it's time for me to let go of some of the copies.
Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
