I'm not often a lucky guy. I don't win a lot. I rarely enter contests due to my fear of humiliation. And even when the opportunity is already within reach, I still miss it. But you know what? I honestly don't mind not being a person of luck. I don't often need it that much.
However, it would be good to experience it from time to time. Most especially when you got it when you wanted it the most. You see, just recently, I tested my fate quite furiously at a raffle. But it wasn't your ordinary raffle, it was specifically for "Fast & Furious" fans. And having been a huge fan since their first movie back in 2001, I wanted to enter and win the damn thing. But again, I wasn't sure if I should. With my luck, I thought I was just going to go home empty-handed.
Something inside me still told me to enter it though. It was like my subconscious whispered to give caution to the wind and try my luck at the raffle. The rules were simple. All I had to do was write my name on the theater ticket when I saw "The Fate of the Furious" in the cinema. Then I had to mail it to a specific P.O. Box address as specified in the online fan club that I'm in for the movie franchise. After the deadline, the hosts will live stream the draw and pick the winner of the grand prize.
Now, I didn't even know what the grand prize was at that point. But I certainly didn't care. I still wrote my name on my ticket stub, mailed it to the online fan club headquarters, and waited for my fate. When the dreaded day arrived, I was both nervous and panicked at the same time. I knew that, with my luck, I had little to no chances of winning. But still, the very little percent of my chances, I believed, still lingered on. And the thought of actually winning the raffle excited me.
And then, they started. There were three prizes on offer: two little ones and one grand prize. The first one was from a different state, all the way on the East coast, while the second came from a town not far from mine. And then, they announced the grand prize winner. And it was... drum roll please... me! I was so shocked and in awe at the time that I think I might have blacked out! Finally, after not getting that much luck in all of my life, it was finally on my side for once!
What was the grand prize, you may ask? It's a stack of "The Fate of the Furious" movie posters signed by the cast themselves. They might not mean much to ordinary film-goers, but for a die-hard "Fast & Furious" fan such as myself, they're gold!
Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
