I love my stepdad, I really do. However, I love him as much as my biological father, and that wasn't always the case before. I took my parents' divorce pretty bitter, I have to admit. And while I was always a daddy's girl, I had to stay with my mom cause my dad was always away.
That also meant that I had to live with my stepdad. And he's a nice and honest man. He loves my mom to bits but he's not dad. We don't have the same close relationship, as hard as he tried it to be. However, that all change when he gave me this great gift. I'm not always a material girl. Sure, I was close to my dad, but that wasn't because he spoiled me or anything like that. But I did allow my stepdad to spoil me, though. It brought me something I never thought I could ever have!
My stepdad knows I'm a true Belieber. I own all of his albums, memorized his music videos, and more. Most of the posters in my room are even those of Justin Bieber. It's as stereotypically teen girl as it can get. And for my stepdad, his work was his meal-ticket to get my love. He actually has worked with Justin before. As a director, he's directed some of his music videos. He was even impressed that I remember even some of the most minute details of his work.
Without even asking him, he brought me a huge gift for my 16th birthday. After coming home from school, I went to my room to find a big box with a bow on it. On the card, my stepdad wrote, "From my good friend, Justin. Hope you like it, sweetie!" Right then and there, my heart stopped. I wondered what it could be. I gently opened the present, even setting aside the wrapping paper foolishly thinking that Justin wrapped it himself, and I saw a stack of "Purpose" (his latest album at the time) posters. And the best part? He signed each one!
I squealed like a pic, ran down to my stepdad's office and hugged him tightly. It was the most affectionate he's ever seen me ever. I don't even know how many times I thanked him for it, but I'm sure he got the message! I also asked why he got me multiple copies of the same poster and his response was so sweet. He said that the others I could give to my friends if I wanted. It'll make me the most popular girl in school. He even thought of that, lol!
Anyways, I eventually did give some to a couple of my girlfriends. No, it didn't make me the most popular girl in school. But I didn't care about that. I'm just so lucky I have two amazing dads in my life!
