It was once said that, during the height of its success, all British actors appeared at least once in a "Harry Potter" film. However, there was one, a matinee idol of sorts, who was conspicuously absent from this conversation: Johnny Depp. He was off playing pirates, authors of fairytales, owners of chocolate factories and whatnot!
However, it was in one of the final scenes of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," that Depp finally appeared in a "Harry Potter Universe" film. In this new franchise, also written by J.K. Rowling, he is Gellert Grindewald—once the most dangerous wizard in the world. And boy, did he ever take on that role! He was exquisite in it, from the first time we see him in the first "Fantastic Beasts" film to the sequel, "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald".
I was so enamored by his cameo in the first film alone, that I made sure I was going to get his autograph for the sequel poster. However, I couldn't do it myself. I called on my cousin in London and had him and his friends get his signature for me. They attended the London premiere of the sequel. Seeing as they were bigger fans of the franchise than I am, I knew they wouldn't mind doing this favor for me.
According to my cousin, Depp was really dashing in person. Though he wasn't the same matinee idol that he was before, he still had the looks and was still cooler than everybody else there. Like how he presents himself in talk shows and such, he has a quirky personality that's not annoying and definitely not lame. You just won't understand him at first. but once you get that he's just playing around, as my cousin shared, you'll get used to it.
At first, I didn't want to believe it. Even when my cousin sent me a pic of the autographs, I still couldn't believe it. However, when I finally got my posters back, with all the cast's autographs, I looked for Depp's straight away. Seeing it in person, I knew they really did accomplish what I asked them to do. And there, on my movie posters, was Johnny Depp's autograph!
Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
