Don't you just love it when another person shares your interests? I am an autograph hound and over the years, I've met many similar "hounds" who are just as enthusiastic as I am. There are others who'd even go above and beyond to get the autographs they want. One such person is my best friend's sister.
To say that she's an autograph hound is practically an understatement. She's a full-blown wolf! She targets her prey carefully and goes on the kill at the perfect time. It helps that she's also established a network filled with Hollywood insiders. So if she can't get to the stars herself, she has other people to get to them for her. No matter who it is, be they movie legends or up-and-coming names, if she wants their autographs, she'll get them! And thanks to her owing me a favor one time, I got her to sign some movie posters too!
The movie in question was "Asking For It," a riotous thriller starring Vannesa Hudgens, Ezra Miller, Alexandra Shipp, Kiersey Clemons, and more! Unfortunately, due to travel restrictions thanks to Covid, I wasn't able to get to the film's premiere back at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival. And even if I did, many cast members—including one of my faves, Miller—didn't attend anyway. So my next best bet was to rely on my best friend's sister instead. If there's someone who could get the cast of this largely unknown movie to sign posters, it's her!
She accepted my request right away since she owed me and before I knew it, she took my copies of the movie poster and got to work. She told me it'd take about a few months to get them all signed but I didn't care. Heck, if it took an entire year, I'd still be happy! Luckily, it didn't take that long! If I remember correctly, it only took about four and a half months until she returned my posters. And yes, they were all signed!
"I never reveal my secrets!" she told me when I asked how the heck she managed to get them all signed. And these weren't just random celebrities, mind you! Vanessa Hudgens? Ezra Miller? Alexandra Shipp? Gabourey Sidibe? These are big Hollywood names! Sidibe was even famously nominated for an Academy Award! The fact that this woman got her to sign my posters was proof that she's on a whole new level! I'm almost ashamed to consider myself an "autograph hound" in front of her!
I asked for these autographs and boy did she deliver! I hope there comes a time she'll owe me something again because there are more celebrities that I want autographs from!
