Look, I have tremendous respect for divas. Heck, I was raised listening to them. From Aretha Franklin and Diana Ross to Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, I'll always have respect for queens. But in this day and age, a lot of the contemporary divas aren't given as much as they deserve. And it's a total pity!
One that totally merits such reverence is Ariana Grande. The girl can sing and she can sing well! No, she's not Mariah Carey so we can just stop that right here! But she is a damn good singer. Does she unnecessarily shake her booty like other singers who aren't as good? Yeah. But she sure as hell is better than the lot of them! And the amount of disrespect she gets is staggering!
This was why, when I finally got the chance to meet her, I gave her the respect she deserved. It was at a red carpet for an awards show wherein she was nominated. I actually don't remember the show and if she won that night cause I only cared for seeing her and getting her autograph. When I finally saw her and person, I was shooked!
First of all, I didn't expect this queen to be so little. She was tiny and cute as hell! But even though she looked like she was only three-feet-tall, I knew her voice was bigger than any other overrated chick that was there that night too. And when she approached me, I kid you not, I knelt down to the floor and told her that she was my queen. Yass! I went there!
As I expected, she laughed and joined in on my fun. I asked her to sign my posters and she respectfully obliged. Now that's a queen I respect! Not only is she talented, but she gives her fans what they want. As a modern diva, I wanted her to look glamorous that night, and honey, girl overdid herself! It was the sort of opulence I need from such queens!
It's high time people stop disrespecting those who have actual talent! Ariana Grande is a queen and no one can convince me otherwise! Bow down and give some damn respect!
