When I first saw the cast of the recent film adaptation of "Cats." I was floored. How in the world did one singular movie project get as many stars of their caliber to join the cast? It was unbelievable. It was as if all of Hollywood came together for one huge cinematic extravaganza!
I mean, Dame Judi Dench, Sir Ian McKellen, Jennifer Hudson, Idris Elba, Taylor Swift, Rebel Wilson, James Corden, and more were all in one movie. That must have been a hella expensive to organize. And I can't even imagine what the casting director went through in order to contact each one, know their schedules, and eventually cast them in the film. He/she deserves his/her own Oscar! As I'm sure this film would have too had they did it correctly. As much as I enjoyed it, there were many things about the movie I would have changed. Starting with how they looked!
Still, a cast of this caliber merits one or even two watched. At least from me. And so I attended the red carpet premiere. Because, why not? This is probably the most star-studded film I'll ever see in my lifetime. I might as well enjoy their presence on the red carpet and get their autographs. Fortunately, my friend who works at a nearby cinema got me a few copies of the movie poster. I planned to ask each and every one of those stars to sign all of them.
It was frankly a difficult mission, but I achieve it anyways! The first of the lot was Sir Ian McKellan, Magneto and Gandalf himself! I'll always remember that moment because, as I asked him for his autograph, he told me how handsome I was and started flirting with me. He even gave me a wink. Though he knew I was with my girlfriend then, we both enjoyed that unbelievable moment with a screen legend. As was Dame Judi Dench, who's always comedy gold herself. She kept on trying to see her autograph, always thinking she made a mistake. For a respected dramatic actress, she sure is hella funny!
Taylor Swift and Jennifer Hudson, on the other hand, were confident in signing our posters. It was clear they've been doing it for quite some time now and have gotten the hang of it. As did Idris Elba. He had such swagger that even my girlfriend couldn't help but stare. "You had Ian McKellen, let me have Idris Elba" she joked. Meanwhile, James Corden and Rebel Wilson seemed like two long-lost siblings. They were both funny and charming in their own ways.
Let me tell you, meeting all those stars in one night was overwhelming! But, I and my girlfriend wouldn't ahve had it any other way! We would have repeated that night many times if we could!
Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
