Out of all the live-action remakes that Disney has been releasing, one of the best-cast is the Maleficent franchise. Angelina Jolie is simply regal as the anti-hero, while Elle Fanning is a fairytale princess that has come to life. They couldn't have picked a better duo for the movies than these extraordinarily beautiful actresses.
Seriously, when I saw them on the red carpet, they caught me breathless. I've never seen such beautiful women in my life. Angelina Jolie, in a way that only she can, looked sexy yet sophisticated in her black gown. She was every inch the powerful fairy that she portrayed on-screen, sans wings. At times, I no longer even think of the original sorceress villain in the original animated version. She has transformed the character into her own. And when she signed my posters, I felt that it was actually Maleficent right in front of me.
Meanwhile, Elle Fanning, in her flowing green dress, was every bit the princess. It's crazy how ethereal this girl looks. She almost looks too delicate to touch. All the while she was signing my posters, I kept shaking at the sheer majesty of her presence. And she's tall too. Thought she looks it, she ain't no dainty girl. She's a statuesque beauty that harkens back to the days of Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly. She's well on her way to becoming an icon of Hollywood beauty herself, which makes me feel honored that I met her and got her autograph!
As for Michelle Pfeiffer, who plays Queen Ingrid in the movie. Well, they couldn't have cast a better actress! She is, has always been, and will always be a queen. She's still as beautiful as when I first saw her in Scarface. And it's a testament to her craft on how she can be so versatile as to be so sexy in that movie yet regal and queenly in this one.
Please Disney, if you're done with the Maleficent franchise, cast these beauties in other films you're planning to do! We, the audience, need them in the cinemas!
