How Watching Late-Night Talk Shows Live Got Me Rey's and Kylo Ren's Autographs

I always thought that attending red carpet events was the best way to get autographs. And for the most part, it is. It's practically the most access a fan can get to star. Not all of them attend Comic-Con. And even if they do, you'll have to wait for hours in a line to get to meet them. At least, on red carpet premieres, the actors actually go to you. Though it should be pointed out, this is not always the case.

Two of the leads in "Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi," Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver, weren't able to sign my and my team's posters during the premiere. Just my luck that the two actors front and center in this movie were the only two who I wasn't able to meet when I attended the premiere. I even brought my autograph-hounding team (yes, this is a thing!) with me and not one of them was able to catch them. They were that in-demand. And so, with the rest of the cast's autographs on us, it's easy to think that we'll just make do with their signatures right? Wrong!

Fortunately, right after their red carpet premieres, they usually do late-night talk shows to further promote the movie. And luckily for us, knowing how difficult getting their autographs would be, we got our tickets for said shows. Two of us went to an LA show right here in Hollywood boulevard and another two went to New York. In the West Coast show, I got to meet Adam Driver up close. Boy is he tall! No wonder he makes an effective Star Wars villain, At 6'2", he makes a perfect sith lord! He was also nice guy!

A couple of days later, we sent our signed posters to our teammates over on the East Coast. There, Daisy Ridley was set to guest in a number of talk shows and online programs. I forgot which one my team attended but sure enough, they finished the job. They told me that Ridley, in person, was the spitting image of Keira Knightley (and from what I remember from the premiere, she really did!). Who, in turn, worked in the prequels as the body double to Natalie Portman's Padme Amidala. Now, I know Rei is not supposed to be a Skywalker, but I'm just saying, based on looks alone, it's not a far-fetched idea!

And so if you and your team of autograph-hounds fail to get signatures during red carpet premieres, just remember there are still late-night talk shows to watch live! Just book your tickets in advance!

Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
