I may have become a man of a certain age, but I still know true rock music. I was blessed to grow up in a time when the likes of the Rolling Stones, Metallica, Aerosmith, and more topping the charts. But out of all the real rock bands that have come and gone, Gun'N'Roses continue to be my absolute favorite.
I even call them "God of Rock" because those are what they are. They lived and breathed rock music. They sound just as great—I'd argue even better—live as they do in their records. And even until very recently, they still rock out for their old and new fans alike. I was lucky enough to have attended one a few years ago. It had been decades since I last went to a concert, but when I heard that Gun'N'Roses were coming to my part of the country, I didn't hesitate to buy a ticket. Luckily, my nephew loves the band just as much as I do, so he and a couple of his friends went with me to the concert so I wouldn't like a sad old man who's all alone.
Just as I expected, they were better than I remembered. A little rough in some of the songs, but hey, you can't blame that on them. Nature has its way of dealing with us the longer we stay on this earth. But even for men of their ages, they were still better than the current groups who tout themselves as rock stars. When, in reality, they're nothing but a couple of aggressive pop stars who have a little more attitude than others. They're not Guns'N'Roses, nor will they ever equal them neither!
As gratitude for keeping me company, during a bathroom break, I wandered off into this mini gift shop and bought my nephew and his friends some posters. I told them that we can all get them signed by the band later during a meet-and-greet. Little did I know, however, that they had already bought posters for themselves. I keep forgetting that my nephew is no longer a child. He's already working, for Pete's sake! It was just my old brain pulling its tricks on me again.
Anyways, instead of getting a refund, I decided to keep them. You can never have too much of a good thing, especially if that good thing is a band like Guns'N'Roses. After the concert, we went in line for the meet-and-greet and waited almost two hours till we finally met them face-to-face. It was the longest two hours I ever waite don, but it was hella worth it! I got to meet my idols, I got them to sign all of my posters, and for the first time, in a long time, I was truly and sincerely happy. My nephew even remarked afterward that he has never seen me smile quite like what I did meeting Gun'N'Roses.
If any of you youngsters are reading this, I hope your taste in music is just as good as my nephews. Don't miss out on the "Gods of Rock," Guns'N'Roses. It's true, quintessential rock music at its best!
Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
