Many like to throw the term "all-star" to movie casts that have a few big names. And while there are movies that merit them, it's become too overused and overrated a term. In my opinion, I'll need to see a galaxy of Hollywood stars for a film cast to really deserve to be "all-star," something like "Anchorman 2"
Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate, Kristen Wiig, Fred Willard, James Marsden, Greg Kinnear, and the great Harrison Ford. These are just some of the biggest celebrities in the world. And, if you could believe, all of them starred or made cameos in "Anchorman 2." I was already a fan of the franchise since I loved the first movie and I'm a sucker for comedy films starring old "SNL" cast members. Many find Will Ferrell annoying but I don't! I'm a huge fan of the guy. And everything he's done, I've watched at least once.
This time around, I put my autograph-hounding to good use! I and a few fellow autograph hounds knew that we'd want to get this major all-stars cast's autographs so we planned it all out. Since Hollywood movies tend to hold multiple premieres, we figured that not all cast members would attend all premieres. Some would be in one city, the others in another, and so on. So we divided amongst ourselves which city to take on and whoever are the cast members that will make an appearance that night, we'll get their autographs. I and a buddy of mine took on New York since this is where we live.
It was the first premiere on their world tour of red carpet events to promote the movie. Fortunately for us, it was also when most of the lead cast attended. That night, we met most of the greats: Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, James Marsden, and Megan Good, among many others. Not ones to miss our chance, we got them to sign our movie posters.
Honestly, that night was still a bit hazy because, since we got a lot of autographs then, we went out for drinks afterward. So I don't remember a lot! What I do remember was how nice of a guy Ferrell was. I mean, I've always thought he was a bit weird since his comedy isn't one that most would appreciate but it really shocked me at how personable he was. and though he was the lead in the movie, he was the most approachable out of all of them. It was easiest to get his autograph out of all the others.
And if I remember correctly, most of the other stars that night were just as nice, but Ferrell was the absolute best. Eventually, all our other autograph-hounding buddies got the rest of the all-star cast's autographs in other cities around the world. All in all, it was a job well done!
Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
