When you get an unexpected present, something you didn't know you wanted, will you still accept it? As for me, it's a hell yes! Why not? If the giver was generous enough to give you something, won't it be rude not to take it? Luckily, what my older cousin gave me was something he knew I'd cherish!
Y'all are probably on the edge of your seat wondering what this "gift" I'm talking about is. Before I tell you, I should first let you know that I am an autograph hound. The fans you see on TV at red carpet events screaming and getting the celebs' autographs? Yep, I'm one of them. And no, I'm not ashamed of it at all! Because of this passion of mine, I got to meet some of the most famous stars in the world. I'm pretty, sure, if y'all had the guts, you'd be doing what I do too! Admit it!
Anyway, before I get even more sidetracked, what my older cousin got me was a stack of signed posters. Yes, he was an autograph hound too. In fact, it was that cousin of mine that introduced me to autograph-hounding. When I saw how much fun he had, the adrenaline of getting noticed by a celebrity and getting their autograph—it all seemed so fun. It also helps that we're both huge movie buffs and TV geeks. We're suckers for entertainment. So I really wasn't surprised that he had a couple of signed posters that he wanted to give me.
The posters in question were of 24, the hit action-packed series that starred the incredible Kiefer Sutherland. Who'd ever forget that jaw-dropping series where one whole season took just one day. I remember feeling so impressed with the concept; watching something "happen" in real-time. It added a riveting punch that no other series, both then and now, has captured quite as effortlessly.
When I saw the posters, my jaw dropped to the floor. Honestly, I only expected Keither Sutherland's autograph to be the only one on the posters but no! They were also signed by the rest of the cast! Penny Johnson, Sarah Clarke, Glenn Morshower, and more! I couldn't believe how my cousin ever got to meet these people. But, then again, he's been doing this for years. It's not far-fetched to know that he probably has some connections out there.
To this day, he has yet to tell me how he got those signed posters. The only things he confirmed were that he owned the posters and he got them signed himself. And when I matched the autographs with other memorabilia collectors and on the net, all of my findings showed that they were, in fact, genuine autographs. At this point, you probably already understand how frustrated I am to know just how my cousin, who's virtually a nobody (with all due respect to him) got so close to the cast of "24" that he was able to get their autographs. I'm baffled to this day!
Oh well, a gift is a gift. And just like my generous cousin, I'm sharing these precious gifts to other "24" fans and TV geeks out there! From one memorabilia collector to another, I hope you find these as good I do!
Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
